Behrooz Yadegar, CEO

As an entrepreneur, Mr. Yadegar collaborated with UCLA Wireless Health Institute by evaluating technology initiatives to improve dignity and quality of life. In 2010, he was named founding member and CEO of MediSens Wireless.

Since 2010, Mr. Yadegar has secured substantial funds through non-institutional and strategic investors. As a key strategic initiative, he has formulated and implemented strong partnerships to enable longevity and growth of the company and its products around the world.

Mr. Yadegar has over 17 years of executive management experience and has worked for leading edge companies in Silicon Valley including, Intel corporation, Silicon Graphics, Mips Technologies, MediaQ, Genesis Microchip and Cypress Semiconductors.
Mr. Yadegar has been member of the boards of several startup companies in the past and holds an MSEE degree.

 

Nitin Raut, CTO & VP of Engineering

Mr. Raut joined MediSens in 2011. He is an inventor focused on blending new technologies and experiences from different domains for meaningful impact in care industry. Mr. Raut has been instrumental in the conception, development, and deployment of EventSens™ and WetSens™ platforms. In addition to managing all aspects of research and development, both hardware and software, he is responsible for the implementation of product deployment infrastructure.

Mr. Raut has over 23 years of experience in creating highly available, 24x7 mission critical systems in Satellite Communications, Banking & Trading, Transportation Systems, Real Time data management, big data management, as well as the core sensors, and algorithms.. He holds a master’s degree in Technology from IIT, Bombay.

Beverly Thompson, Director of Operations

Thirty-five years in the high tech industry including functional experience in Operations, Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Finance, and IT.

Dr. Jay Rindenau, MD, Co-Founder & Medical Advisor

Dr. Jay Rindenau is a Co-Founder, Director and serves as Chief Medical Officer of MediSens Wireless, Inc.  Dr Rindenau  is an accomplished Board Certified Anesthesiologist who was  in private practice in Orange County for 20 years At Irvine Regional Medical Center.  In addition to clinical medicine, he is a highly respected consultant in the areas of operating room efficiency and management of Peri Operative Services.  

He has consulted for  Tenet HealthSystems and Hahnemann/MCP University Hospital.  He has also consulted for St Vincents Medical Center in Los Angeles and other hospitals in the Southern California Region.  

He was also the only practicing physician on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Irvine Regional Hospital and Medical Center of the Tenet HealthSystem. He was a founder of Golden State Anesthesia Consultants who merged with Envision Heathcare in 2012   Dr. Rindenau received his Medical degree from Temple University and his post graduate training at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center.

Dr. Majid Sarrafzadeh, Co-Founder & Technical Advisor

Majid Sarrafzadeh   received his Ph.D. in  1987 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Electrical and Computer Engineering.  He joined Northwestern University as an Assistant Professor in 1987.  

In 2000, he joined the Computer Science Department at University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) where he is current a distinguished professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.  He is a co-founder and co-director of the Center for SMART Health. His recent research interests lie in the area of Embedded Computing and Data Anlytics with emphasis on healthcare. Dr. Sarrafzadeh is a Fellow of IEEE. Professor Sarrafzadeh has published more than 530 papers, co-authored 5 books, and is a named inventor on many US patents.


Dr. Sarrafzadeh has collaborated with many industries in the past 30 years. He co-founded two companies around 2000 - they were both acquired around 2004. He has recently co-founded three companies in the area of Technology in Healthcare.

Mr. Carlos Richer, Technical Advisor

Mr. Richer used to be General Director at Absormex, one of the largest independently owned disposable baby diaper factories in Latin America, with sales exceeding half a billion diapers every year (about 70 million USD per year). After 21 years working with Absormex, Mr. Richer retired in 2005 to start his own consulting company Richer Investment SA de CV, dedicated to provide consulting services to the disposable diaper industry worldwide.

He is an expert in the field of manufacturing disposable absorbent products, with 33 years of experience covering all manufacturing operations. He currently provides technical support to clients in 28 countries in four continents, both diaper manufacturers, and traders. He has worked as consultant with many raw material suppliers and original equipment manufacturers, for SAP, nonwovens, hot melt, and pulp fluff.

He has also been invited as guest speaker in many diaper industry seminars and technical forums. Mr. Richer frequently writes articles in the most important diaper industry publications, such as Nonwovens Industry and Nonwovens World. Mr. Richer is also an invited guest member of the board of directors of several companies.
