To design and deliver personal medical monitoring systems which advance human health. The data that we gather and analyze through our monitoring products enables healthcare professionals to dramatically improve the standard of care. At the same time, the MediSens systems will also significantly improve profitability for healthcare providers.

“It is the intent of the Company to obtain FDA approval on all our products. To date we have achieved the first step in the process by receiving Internal Review Board (IRB) approval to proceed with our clinical studies for the products listed”

PACE - Clinical Gait Assessment Systems

PACE is an assessment tool for gait & instability, based on embedded gait analysis algorithms. It detects conditions that precede falls and reduces risk of injuries caused by falls. PACE is a cost-effective, highly accurate, lightweight and easy to use solution for patients, doctors and caregivers to monitor balance conditions and generate early warnings in order to prevent falls, especially by older people. The chart illustrates the rates of injuries and fatalities directly related to falls as a function of age. With our aging population rapidly rising in numbers and the costs of health care skyrocketing, the system is much better suited for a variety of environments and applications than the traditional clinical tests, laboratory-based motion systems and simplistic add on systems.

The system consists of an orthotic insert which fits into an athletic shoe and software that analyses the collected data.

Features

A highly integrated processing unit embedded inside the insole of a shoe acquires sensor data, performs highly sophisticated preliminary signal processing and packages data for transmission to a variety of devices such as a local PDA, a PC or remote console as long as they have a Bluetooth or CC2420 radio interface.

User friendly screens and intuitive navigation enable the doctor to view fall-risk levels to customize orthotics as well as receive early warnings of potentially harmful falls.

PACE Advantages

In Clinical Applications
  • Monitors balance conditions and generates early warnings to prevent falls
  • Measures multiple spatial and temporal parameters such as length of step, stride length, cadence and time for each step, speed, stance-to-swing ratio and double limb support
  • Quantitative measurements and high-level inferences
  • Highly accurate and reliable fall-risk analysis and balance assessment
  • Decreased Never Events in care environment

  • Additional Advantages
  • Light weight for ease of patient mobility
  • User-friendly software
  • Partnership with UCLA technical and clinical experts
  • Bluetooth communication to local and remote consoles
  • Allows for more billable services
  • Provides hardcopy and electronic reports for reimbursement
  • Increased productivity and improved workflow
  • Cost effective

  • Greater Diagnostic Capability in Your Office

The PACE system can enhance your clinic's capabilities in a growing number of clinical applications by providing an easy-to-use tool that quickly gives you practical data right in your office. These tests are operator independent, reimbursable, and can be performed in less than five minutes.

    CMAS (Clinical Movement Assessment System)

CMAS consists of a clinical assessment instrument and associated software designed to help the healthcare professional to evaluate and capture current and ongoing muscle and neuro-motor functions.

    Clinical Assessments

  • Fine Motor Movement
  • Gross Muscle Strength
  • Hand–Eye Coordination
  • Patient Progress & Response to Treatment
  •

    Applications
  • As a therapeutic aid and exercise device, CMAS provides quantifiable exercise regimes and valuable biofeedback to help patient rehabilitation.
  • As a screening device, pre-surgical baselines can be compared to post-surgical outcomes
  • Functional baselines can be established for Head and Spinal Cord injury, and neurologically challenged patients; closely captured repeat assessments may lead to early warning and detection of deteriorating conditions
  • Movement disorders can be assessed and response to medication and treatment measured; pharmaceutical dosages can be readily adjusted

  • Target Patient Categories
  • Initial Screening
  • MI (Cardiac)
  • Head Trauma/ Spinal Cord Injury
  • TIA/Stroke- Cerebral Vascular Accident
  • Neuromuscular Movement Disorder
  • Orthopedic Trauma/Compartment Syndrome

    MCS: Medication Compliance System

Medication non-compliance is dangerous and costly. Non-compliance causes 125,000 deaths annually in the US. It leads to 10 to 25 percent of hospital and nursing home admissions, and is becoming an international epidemic.

Sending and receiving text messages helps to solve medication non-compliance problems. Whereas social support can improve coping, promote health, and alleviate isolation and loneliness, and informational, emotional, and affirmative support from peers promotes adherence, receiving a text message to alert the patient provides a much longer lasting effect on compliance.

    How it works:
  • Acquire a patient’s basic information via Touchpad Survey System
  • Design a customized compliance text message plan based on survey answers and caregivers’ input
  • Process message status and responses daily
  • Alert the clinical staff by E-mail/SMS daily
