Dr. Jay Rindenau, MD
co-Founder & Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Jay Rindenau is a Co-Founder of MediSens, serving as Chief Medical Officer and currently also acting in the capacity of Interim Chief Executive Officer. He is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist practicing in a number of medical centers in Southern California. Recognized widely for his expertise, Dr. Rindenau has frequently rendered his professional opinion onvarious medical matters in the national media. Most recently he was interviewed on numerous television and radio programs regarding the circumstances of Michael Jackson’s death. In addition to clinical medicine, Dr. Rindenau is a highly respected specialist in the areas of operating room efficiency and management. He has made very significant contributions in this discipline for St. Vincent's Hospital, Tenet Health Systems and Hahnemann/MCP University Hospital, among others. Dr. Rindenau received his M.D. degree from Temple University and his post graduate training at the UC Irvine Medical Center.
Dr. Majid Sarrafzadeh, PhD

Prof. Majid Sarrafzadeh is a
co-Founder of MediSens and actively serves as the Chairman of the Technical
Advisory Board. He is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of
California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He is also the Director of the Embedded &
Reconfigurable Computation Lab and co-Director of the Wireless Health
Institute. In addition to performing cutting-edge academic research in the
field of computer science, Professor Sarrafzadeh has collaborated with many
companies, including IBM and Motorola, in product development projects. He has
also been a founding member of two companies; Monterey Design Systems (acquired
by Synopsys) and Hier Design, Inc. (acquired by Xilinx). Professor Sarrafzadeh’s
recent research has focused on wireless sensor networks for medical
applications. He is an IEEE Fellow, has published over 300 papers, co-authored
5 books and is a named inventor on 6 US patents. Prior to his appointment at
UCLA, he was Professor of Electrical Engineering at Northwestern University
from 1987 until 2000. Professor Sarrafzadeh earned his PhD, MS and BS from the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Electrical and Computer
Engineering.
Dr. Nicholas Terrafranca, DPM
Medical Director
Dr. Nick Terrafranca serves as the Medical Director of MediSens. He is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine who has dedicated much of his life to treating the effects of diabetes on the foot. He has chaired numerous hospital committees, including surgery, orthopedics, podiatry and utilization review. During his practice, Dr. Terrafranca established the wound care program for the Irvine Medical Center. He has also served as an associate clinical professor of the California College of Podiatric Medicine and as the CEO of a health program in conjunction with the FHP Life Insurance Company. Dr. Terrafranca received his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the California College of Podiatric Medicine.
